TAGPUAN is an official entry to the 1st Summer Metro Manila Film Festival

Tagpuan”, the comeback vehicle for actor-politician Alfred Vargas, has been selected as one of the entries to the inaugural Metro Manila Summer Film Festival. The news was announced via the official Instagram page of the said movie on a post that read, “[Alfred Vargas] is back on the big screen with [Shaina Magdayao] and [Iza Calzado] in a romantic drama written by Ricky Lee and directed by [Marc Alejandre].”

“TAGPUAN is an official entry to the 1st Summer Metro Manila Film Festival. Opens in cinemas April 11,” it added. Shaina Magdayao, “I’m grateful to be part of a Ricky Lee project,” she says. “My first time din to work with Direk Mac and with Alfred Vargas as leading man and I had a great time with everyone while shooting the movie on location in Hong Kong at the time of their protest rallies and in Brooklyn and Queens, New York.” “Tanya is someone I’ve never portrayed before in my whole career. She’s quirky, she’s a free spirit. She’s half Filipino-half Chinese living in Hong Kong and doing all sorts of work, from cleaning toilets to being a streetwalker. I had a one-on-one meeting with Direk Mac and he helped me to get into my character.” Alfred has nothing but good words for Shaina. “Her performance is mesmerizing.

Aside from “Tagpuan”, other films that will be showcased at the MMFF Summer Festival include “A Hard Day”, a Filipino remake of the Korean film co-starring Dingdong Dantes and John Arcilla; the Nora Aunor-starrer “Isa Pang Bahaghari”, and “Love or Money” – the first collaboration between Coco Martin and Angelica Panganiban. The MMFF summer festival’s Parade of the Stars will take place on 5 April in Quezon City. Here is the movie trailer.
